Pressing TAB three times in Mutt after change-folder:

First press: '?' for help disappears
Second press: The current folder index disappears and a mailbox list containing just the proposed folder appears.
Third press: The list is changed to contain all mailboxes being monitored

I agree that the list could be more useful, but it does serve two important purposes: it allows me to see in one glance which mailboxes contain new mails and it allows me to select any of the mailboxes without having to write its name.

("Piski" is Finnish for mutt.)
